Turquoise and Yellow Gold Ring

I have a ring my sister actually found while plowing up her flower bed. It appears to be at least 18k judging from the color and softness of the metal.

There are graduated circles from large at the base, up to small at the top of the ring with a total of approx. 40 beautiful small round turquoise stones.

The setting is not like something you'd see today. I think it looks antique.

Do you think it's worth my getting it appraised? OR.. is there a book or some information I might find elsewhere?

Thank you for your time and help.

Hello Sheila – Ann Here.

You are a lucky thing, as it sounds delightful.

HOWEVER; You need to get your local friendly Gemologist Valuer to do a full appraisal for you (David Nagging again) Tongue out

Get it written down to prove it is – what you think it is. That's the only way you are going to know for sure and stop guessing.

They will charge you a fee for this – but in the long run it will be worth it.

They should also be able to tell you BEFORE they start, if it's real or not (subject to any major testing).

There are many books on Antique Jewelry, or Turquoise, and you might like to browse our specialty Jewelry Bookstore (links direct to Amazon) here:

Do a SEARCH if you can't find anything on the first few pages.

Because it doesn't have to be Gold to be Valuable
