I was hoping that someone could give me some advice on a pair of earrings that we acquired at a thrift store. We are usually just in the business of scrap gold, but there is something about these that prevents me from doing so. They are gorgeous.
The have a hoop style top covered in clear stones all the way around and then from this there is a ball type hollow inside covered in clear stones and from there little dangles of gold all the way around.
The marks are found on the hoop area that goes into the ear....Sideways anchor, 916, and then something that I am having problems with it is like a rectangle whose ends are inverted and inside this are the letters GJ. I am unable to see anything else so far?
If someone would like to see pictures of these, please let me know how to post.
G'day and many thanks for your post. As you mentioned the 916 is the international mark for 22 carat gold and the sideways Anchor is the Assay Office Mark for Birmingham UK.
You didn't mention where you were living - so I'm assuming it is in the UK.
