G'day all and many thanks for taking the time to read this post.

I recently received a request from Emma so I will add her question first, so you can all see where we are going here.

Here's Emma's Question:

I have found some what looks like Victorian jewellery in a cavity of a wall and a rosary with cross.

what should i do next as i'm quite intrigued to see if they are worth anything.

You didn't say if you OWNER the house or if you were doing work for someone else - because that's where it gets tricky...

Also (although I don't actually ALWAYS agree with this - it seems to me 'Finders Keepers' may apply

Legally you should report it. Should the items NOT get claimed after a certain amount of time - then it's yours.

Personally (especially if it came from my own property) I would simply swear blind it was my Great Aunty Gwens and get it appraised - but that's me...
